Steelers drop Skins to 6-3

After a couple of early Steeler mistakes that gave the Redskins a 6-0 lead, the Skins started making mistakes of their own, and the Steelers, led by backup QB Byron Leftwich and a ferocious defense, stormed back to beat the Skins 23-6 Monday night at Fed Ex Field. Steelers RB Wille Parker, back from a 4-game injury layoff, carried the ball 21 times for 70 yards and a 1-yard touchdown plunge.

Under constant pressure, Jason Campbell (pictured) - who hadn't thrown an interception all year - threw 2 to the Steelers, while completing 24 of 43 for 206 yards.

Clinton Portis' string of 5 games with over 120 yards rushing came to an end as he gained just 51 yards on only 13 carries.

Chris Cooley was the reception leader, grabbing 8 for 78 yards. Portis had 7 catches for 73 yards. Antwaan Randle El caught 3, Santana Moss only 2.

The Skins have a Bye next week, so they have some extra time to lick their wounds and prepare for the Sunday night game against the Cowboys on November 16th.
